JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The Framing Carpenter Job is responsible for a variety of tasks dependent upon the type of project.  The daily duties for Framing Carpenter Job vary upon scope of project, company policies governing the function.

Essential Functions

Interpret and read construction/blueprint plans, sketches, and drawings for carpentry projects of all types
Prepare building materials by cutting, shaping and install building material to build frames for the project to include doors, windows, siding and shingles and soffits, fascias and other moldings.
Repair existing structures and flooring
The Framing Carpenter Job may sometimes perform finishing construction work, such as hanging drywall and paneling over completed framework.
The Framing Carpenter Job adheres to all safety protocols while on the job, including wearing proper PPE, safety clothing and gear
Fit and install trim on finished construction projects to include baseboards, crown molding, quarter round, casings and other finishing materials as required
Maintain a clean and organized job site at all times by putting away their own tools and materials after use, sweeping up, and performing other cleaning tasks.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position may from time to time have supervisory responsibilities to direct the work of subordinate labor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.  The employee must be able to climb ladders, scaffolds, and roofs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position and will be scheduled a minimum of 40 hours of work and in most cases the work week will require approximately 50 hours.  This position regularly requires long hours and weekends.

Travel

This position requires up to 25% travel between job sites

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED.
At least 5 years of experience reading blueprints/plans sketches
Proficient in mathematical measurements and calculations
At least 5 years of experience in construction framing carpentry

PROJECT MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective 
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing of the construction project to include the
coordination of priority site tasks, scheduling of all field personnel and delivery of materials to
site. The ability to multi-task, while maintaining complex schedules and directing multiple
departments is essential in this position.
Essential Functions

 Blue Print reading, layout and planning of the day-to-day work
 Maintain project safety standards in accordance to local standards
 Performing standards of workmanship that meet the projects requirements that are
consistent with industry best-practice;
 Managing the crew(s) to accomplish the task, including the teaching and mentoring of
individuals in the crew that are less experienced;
 Maintaining tools, cords and equipment so that they are kept in good working order and
are safe for use;
 Maintaining the work area(s) in a clean and orderly manner on a continuous basis
 Coordinating the work with the Advisor, and others that are involved in the process;
 Creating lists of materials, supplies, specialty tools and equipment (proactively) that are
needed to perform the work;
 Consistently reporting for work on time and in appropriate attire;
 Participating in training and other forms of development to strengthen technical, safety
and supervisory skills
 Providing comprehensive daily updates to the relevant Advisors on project status
 Carrying out specific orders delegated by superiors with haste, and a positive attitude
 Maintaining morale of your fellow crew members, both above and below your position.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibilities over the Field department. The Project Manager
must direct the work of contract labor and the Palmetto Renovations crew. They must schedule
workers, and are responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring and terminating in accordance
with all Federal and State Laws governing said practices.

TILE TECHNICIAN

JOB DESCRIPTION

Essential Functions

  • Cut tiles and shape them properly to ensure they fit around obstacles and in tight corners and odd spaces using power and hand tools
  • Form tile beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue or mortar utilizing tools such as screeds, brushes and trowels
  • Align tiles and straighten them with straightedges, levels and square to ensure patterns are precise
  • Cut, install, polish and surface granite and marble and ensure accuracy during the installation process for lasting results
  • Prepare various surfaces for tiling with waterproofing material or lath and by cleaning the surfaces properly including shower walls and pans
  • Create decorative wall and floor designs by laying and setting mosaic tiles in kitchens, bathrooms and living rooms
  • Tap tiles into place carefully using tools to properly adhere tiles to the base making sure not to break or damage tiles
  • Follow blueprints precisely and mark and measure surfaces that need to be tiled to determine how to go about jobs
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site at all times

PLUMBER JOBS

Summary/Objective

The Plumber is responsible for the installation of all piping, fixtures and layout for water/sewer associated with construction projects.

Essential Functions

  • Interprets blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials.
  • Installs pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, for water, gas, steam, air or other liquids
  • Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation
  • Assembles fittings and valves for installation
  • Modifies length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed for building
  • Uses saws and pipe cutters as necessary
  • Installs heating and air-conditioning systems, including water heaters
  • Collaborates with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing
  • Tests plumbing systems for leaks and other problems
  • Analyses problem and identifies appropriate tools and materials for repair
  • Chooses plumbing materials based on budget, location, and intended uses of building
  • Follows health and safety standards and complies with building codes
  • Writes report documenting the problem and summary of actions taken for diagnostic purposes
